Uzbekistan and Czech Republic agree to develop cooperation in startups and innovations

PRAGUE, March 17. /Dunyo/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized an online meeting between representatives of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Innovative Development and the Czech agency CzechInvest to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of startups and innovation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The meeting was attended by Katerzina Rundova, Deputy for Technological Development at CzechInvest, heads of relevant departments, as well as Head of Department at the Agency for Innovative Development of Uzbekistan Hamrobek Rakhmonkulov and other specialists.
The discussions focused on mechanisms for supporting startups and innovative projects, including incubation and acceleration programs, as well as the development of national innovation ecosystems. The Uzbek side presented initiatives in technological entrepreneurship, including a grant support system, while Czech partners shared their experience and best practices.
Special attention was given to experience sharing and expanding practical cooperation. An agreement was reached to explore joint programs involving startups from both countries, facilitate the exchange of mentors and experts, and consider improvements to legislation based on Czech experience.
Additionally, the parties agreed to develop cooperation through specialized events, including InnoWeek and Czech Startup Week, as well as organize reciprocal delegation visits to study each country’s innovation ecosystems.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to practically implement the planned initiatives, including exchanging detailed information and launching joint projects in the near future.
