UWED and Leading UK University launch joint Master’s Program in Legal Studies

GLASGOW, March 16. /Dunyo IA/. During his visit to the United Kingdom, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Rector of University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Sodiq Safoyev, held talks with the leadership of University of Glasgow on developing long-term academic cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow ranks 79th in the 2026 "QS World University Rankings" and 84th according to the "Times Higher Education" World University Rankings. The university employs around 5,900 academic staff and educates nearly 39,000 students.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Principal Professor Rachel Sandison, Dean of the School of Law Professor Claire McDiarmid, as well as members of the academic and administrative staff.

During the visit, documents aimed at expanding academic cooperation were signed.

Under the agreements, the parties plan to establish a joint master’s program in legal studies based on a dual diploma format and within the framework of the "Erasmus Mundus" Joint Masters initiative.

According to the program arrangements, master’s students from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy will have the opportunity to study at the School of Law of the University of Glasgow, fulfill the required academic standards, and obtain a diploma from one of the United Kingdom’s leading law schools.

The signed agreements are expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between the universities and contribute to the expansion of academic exchange and scientific cooperation.
