RIGA, 21 December. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation on the trade, economic, investment, and tourism potential of Uzbekistan was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan for representatives of the Latvian business community, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Participants were provided with information on the large-scale reforms underway in Uzbekistan, developments in trade and entrepreneurship, opportunities within free economic and industrial zones, and the privileges and incentives available to foreign investors. Special attention was given to investment projects being implemented across the country in the fields of industry, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and services.

The presentation also highlighted the priorities of state policy aimed at digitalizing the economy, modernizing transport and industrial infrastructure, and supporting innovative entrepreneurship. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is creating a new environment designed to enhance openness, competitiveness, and international cooperation, including long-term partnerships with foreign partners.

The country’s tourism potential was also given particular attention. Participants were briefed on opportunities for developing cultural, educational, historical, gastronomic, and event-based tourism, as well as government measures to support the development of tourism infrastructure and the promotion of national tourism products in international markets.

Representatives of the Latvian business community expressed interest in cooperation in transport, logistics, and trade. Discussions included prospects for developing transit routes between Uzbekistan and EU countries, the use of Latvian port, rail, and aviation infrastructure, and the implementation of joint projects in freight transportation, multimodal logistics, and warehousing.

As a result of the event, an agreement was reached to organize a business mission of Latvian entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan in March 2026. During this visit, direct business connections and the implementation of joint projects in trade, economic, investment, and tourism sectors will be discussed.
