"London Post": President of Uzbekistan's Address unveils the country’s growth and development strategy

LONDON, January 1. /Dunyo IA/. The website of the leading British outlet "London Post" has published an article devoted to the Address of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The article notes that the President’s Address placed particular emphasis on the country’s socio-economic development, rising living standards and strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy.

The publication cites assessments by Akramjon Ne’matov, First Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), who stressed that Uzbekistan continues to demonstrate resilient economic growth despite a challenging global environment, having for the first time surpassed a GDP threshold of USD 145 billion.

In this context, the expert emphasized that maintaining high economic growth rates will remain an unconditional priority, while noting a fundamental shift in focus—from quantitative expansion toward a technology-driven and innovation-based development model. As Akramjon Ne’matov underlined, “an innovation-led economy ensures long-term competitiveness and reduces dependence on raw materials, which is critically important amid global instability".

The article further highlights that the Address paid special attention to the transition to an innovative and technological development model, the stimulation of domestic demand, modernization of the labor market, the expansion of green energy and environmental sustainability, as well as enhancing public administration and judicial reforms.

It is noted that these priorities form the foundation for qualitative cooperation between Uzbekistan and its international partners in the areas of technology, human capital development, green energy, infrastructure, and institutional reform. The expert underscored that Uzbekistan is pursuing strategic, long-term partnerships focused on sustainable growth and innovation, aligned with shared global development objectives.
