Pakistani Media report on the presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: The path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” in Islamabad

Pakistani media widely covered the presentation of the English edition of political scientist Kudratilla Rafikov’s book, “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev”, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In particular, leading Pakistani news agencies, online platforms, and print media, including “Associated Press of Pakistan”, “Diplomatic News Agency”, online resources “The World News”, “Bloom Pakistan”, “UrduTashkent”, “Centreline”, “Pakistan in the World” as well as newspapers “Daily Country News”, “Daily Ittihad”, “The National”, “The Financial Times” and “Islamabad Post”, along with television channels “Pakistan TV”, “Dunya TV” and “Geo News”, published a series of reports covering the book presentation, highlighting the activities of the Head of State in building the New Uzbekistan.
The publications particularly emphasize that the book presentation generated significant public resonance in Pakistan. This was evidenced by the high level of representation at the event.
Among the participants were:
- Murtaza Solangi, Press Secretary to the President of Pakistan;
- heads of various ministries and governmental agencies;
- members of both chambers of the Parliament;
- over ten foreign ambassadors accredited in Islamabad;
- representatives of the diplomatic corps, business circles, and academic community;
- members of the media.
From the Uzbek side, participants included: a member of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Science, Education and Health; Husan Ermatov, Editor-in-chief of the newspapers “Ishonch” and “Ishonch-Doverie”; Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center and other official representatives. The coverage highlighted both the high-profile nature of the event and the active participation of diplomatic, governmental and academic figures from both countries.
At the beginning of the event, video materials highlighting the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev were shown.
According to Pakistani media, the presentation was opened with an introductory speech by Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan. In his remarks, the head of the diplomatic mission noted that within a short period in Islamabad, three significant books about Uzbekistan were presented to the public: “Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance - The Concept of the Future” by Muhammad Abbas Khan; “Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Great Leader of Reforms and Regional Integration” by Mehmood ul-Hasan Khan and “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” by Kudratilla Rafikov. He emphasized that this reflects the growing interest of Pakistan’s academic and research circles in Uzbekistan.
Pakistani publications note that Kudratilla Rafikov’s book provides a detailed account of the irreversible reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, covering areas such as macroeconomic transformations, financial liberalization, poverty reduction, foreign policy, cultural diplomacy and regional integration.
Special emphasis is placed on the principle articulated by the Head of State, according to which reforms are implemented “not for statistics, but for human dignity, honor and the future.
The reports highlight that the idea of a “New Uzbekistan” has become a practical development strategy and the book provides a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of achievements in digital economy, “green” energy, attracting foreign investments and creating new jobs for youth.
In addition, Pakistani media note that through the personal support of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, the strategic partnership between the two countries has reached a qualitatively new level.
It is emphasized that the two sides are consistently cooperating on the implementation of strategic projects connecting Central and South Asia, including the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway, and are developing joint measures to increase bilateral trade volume to $2 billion.
