Uzbekistan and India enter new phase in tourism partnership

MUMBAI, February 12. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Sardor Rustambayev, held talks with the heads of Indian travel companies “Wingspan” and “Blink Brand Solutions”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Special attention was given to developing new approaches and a concept for the comprehensive promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Indian market.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, as well as practical measures to increase the flow of Indian tourists to Uzbekistan.

They noted that relations between the two countries have developed dynamically in recent years and tourism remains one of the key areas for further strengthening humanitarian and economic ties.

To increase tourist flow from India, a new marketing strategy is planned, taking into account the specifics of the region. In particular, this will involve creating dedicated websites and social media pages in Hindi and English, as well as actively leveraging YouTube and other digital platforms.

The parties also discussed attracting major travel agencies and platforms, such as MakeMyTrip, Yatra, Booking.com India and others, as well as organizing familiarization tours for prominent Indian journalists and bloggers, which are expected to yield positive results.

They explored the prospects of filming feature films and music videos by the Indian film industry in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and other locations in Uzbekistan.

The strategic importance of launching direct flights from India’s largest metropolises - Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore - to Tashkent and Samarkand was emphasized.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to jointly develop a concept for the comprehensive promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Indian market in partnership with “Wingspan” and “Blink Brand Solutions”.

These initiatives aim to fully realize the potential of bilateral cooperation, open new opportunities to increase tourist flow, strengthen cultural ties and further develop the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and India.
