Uzbekistan showcases its tourism potential during event in Israel

TEL AVIV, January 14. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel hosted an event dedicated to the country’s tourism potential and the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives from Israel’s tourism industry, relevant organizations, airlines, academic institutions and government bodies.

During the opening session, guests were informed that Uzbekistan welcomed over 11 million tourists in 2025, reflecting the country’s growing international appeal. Special emphasis was placed on the fact that tourist arrivals from Israel increased by more than 70 percent compared to 2024, highlighting the dynamic development of bilateral tourism relations. The discussions also focused on issues related to air connectivity between the two countries, underscoring the importance of accessible and efficient transportation links in promoting mutual tourism.

Tourism potential of various regions of Uzbekistan was showcased, encompassing historical and cultural tourism, pilgrimage tourism, eco-tourism, gastronomic experiences and adventure tourism. The session also highlighted government support measures for the sector and explored opportunities for practical collaboration with Israeli partners. Attendees received informational materials, presentation booklets and reference guides detailing the country’s tourist routes and infrastructure.

Participants were additionally briefed on the establishment of the Samarkand Campus of the International Tourism Academy, operating under the auspices of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), underscoring Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in tourism education and professional training.

 

The event concluded with an exchange of views and informal discussions, during which the parties explored specific avenues for future collaboration.
