• 354DELHI, February 26. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in the 33rd “South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange” (SATTE), which opened on Wednesday at the “Yashobhoomi” Exhibition Centre in Delhi, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The region’s largest tourism industry event brought together over 2,000 exhibitors from 60 countries. Uzbekistan’s participation in “SATTE 2026” represents a continuation of its major promotional campaign in the Indian market this year, following a successful debut at the “OTM” exhibition in Mumbai earlier in February.
Uzbekistan’s national pavilion, organised with the support of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, and the Indian company “Blink Brand Solutions”, attracted significant attention from visitors and industry professionals within the first hours of the exhibition.
The pavilion, showcasing the country’s rich tourism potential, quickly became one of the most active networking hubs. Representatives of the State Committee for Tourism and leading tour operators are holding a series of B2B meetings with Indian companies and partners from South Asian countries.
Interest among Indian tourists in Uzbekistan is showing dynamic year-on-year growth. In 2025, more than 80,000 Indian citizens visited the country and, given current trends, arrivals from India are expected to reach 100,000 in 2026.
This positive trend is driven not only by Uzbekistan’s geographical proximity and rich cultural and historical heritage, but also by consistent measures to simplify the visa regime, including the introduction of e-visas, and the active expansion of air connectivity, which is set to reach nearly 20 weekly flights by April 2026.
A particular highlight for the country was receiving the prestigious “VETA Awards” on the eve of “SATTE 2026”, established by the leading media company “Versatile Media”. Uzbekistan was honoured in the category for outstanding achievements in tourism development, representing the highest recognition of the effectiveness of ongoing reforms and innovations in the sector.
This award, which brings together global leaders in the tourism industry, underscores Uzbekistan’s status as a key player on Asia’s tourism map and serves as a strong incentive to further strengthen partnerships and promote the national brand internationally.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in recent years has shown steady development, with the tourism sector serving as a prominent example of successful collaboration and mutual trust.
Earlier, during the “OTM” exhibition in Mumbai, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev held talks with the leadership of Indian companies “Wingspan” and “Blink Brand Solutions” on developing a new marketing strategy to further promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in India.
As part of this initiative, specialised websites and social media pages in Hindi and English are planned, alongside engagement with major platforms such as MakeMyTrip, Yatra, and others to reach the wider Indian tourist audience.
These measures, combined with the organisation of familiarisation tours for Indian bloggers and journalists, as well as a large-scale advertising campaign showcasing videos of Uzbekistan’s ancient cities in Delhi, Mumbai and Gurgaon are already yielding positive results.
