JAKARTA, January 14. /Dunyo IA/. The first phase of a comprehensive project aimed at promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism, cultural, and spiritual potential has been launched in Indonesia’s capital, according to a correspondent of Dunyo News Agency.

As part of the initiative, a video clip produced under the unified brand “Visit Uzbekistan - Homeland of Imam Bukhari” was displayed on modern LED screens located in Jakarta’s largest public and business districts.

The video showcases Uzbekistan’s unique natural landscapes, remarkable architectural ensembles, modern infrastructure and tourism facilities. It also highlights the scientific legacy of Imam Bukhari, one of the greatest scholars in the Islamic world as well as Samarkand’s historical role as a key centre of Islamic civilization, emphasizing the country’s cultural, historical and pilgrimage tourism potential.

The placement of this video content on LED screens aims to promote cultural and educational cooperation while presenting Uzbekistan on the global stage as a hub of Islamic scholarship and spirituality. The project is also designed to foster a positive and sustainable image of Uzbekistan in the Indonesian market, the largest Muslim-majority country in the world.

Indonesia, with a population exceeding 285 million, sees over 1.8 million of its citizens performing the Umrah pilgrimage each year, making the country a strategically important market for the development of pilgrimage tourism.

Within this initiative, Uzbekistan’s visual presence across public spaces in Indonesia is being rolled out in phases, aiming to systematically showcase the country’s tourism potential to an international audience and strengthen cultural and educational ties.

The placement of video content on LED screens marks the launch of Uzbekistan’s full-scale program to promote pilgrimage and tourism in Indonesia. The initiative encompasses seven interrelated areas, including the development of aviation and tourism logistics, extensive promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential across Indonesian media platforms and the organization of dedicated promotional and presentation events in the country’s major cities - Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Samarinda.

As part of its ongoing initiative to promote Uzbekistan as a premier travel destination, video content highlighting the country’s tourism brand has been installed on LED screens within Jakarta’s metro infrastructure. The program also envisages regular visits by prominent imams from major mosques to Uzbekistan as well as media projects featuring influential bloggers and community leaders.

Beyond tourism promotion, the initiative aims to strengthen cultural and humanitarian diplomacy, while advancing charitable efforts and showcasing Uzbekistan’s rich national heritage.

In its initial phase, three LED screens displaying the content have been deployed in high-traffic areas of Jakarta, targeting daily commuters. Over the course of one month, the campaign is projected to reach more than 17.5 million public transport users, significantly enhancing public awareness of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and its cultural offerings.
