Uzbek textile manufacturers prepare to expand business ties with Spanish buyers

MADRID, September 18. /Dunyo IA/.  A business dialogue in the format of a videoconference was held on increasing the export of Uzbek textile products to the Spanish and European markets, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Online meeting was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain, jointly with the Technical Regulation Agency and the Light Industry Development Agency.

Event was attended by Alejandro Pastrana, Head of the Spanish company “Ayecotex”, industry experts and representatives of leading textile enterprises of Uzbekistan.

Main objective of the meeting was to determine practical mechanisms for promoting Uzbek textile products in Spain, expanding the geography of exports, and establishing direct business ties between manufacturers and potential European customers.

Parties discussed the supply of products for private labels and state institutions, including medical and social organizations, the production of specialized textile materials, interaction with large retail chains, as well as cooperation with Spanish brands.

Separately, the key factors that European buyers consider when choosing suppliers were reviewed: logistics, product quality, competitive pricing and payment terms. Uzbek enterprises also received information regarding the requirements of the Spanish market, certification, the organization of export supplies and interaction with potential customers.

One of the proposals was the creation of a modern wholesale trade hall and a showroom for Uzbek textile products in Madrid. Such a platform could be used for presenting manufacturers, holding meetings with Spanish buyers and promoting Uzbek brands in the EU market.

Spanish side expressed readiness to assist in establishing direct contacts between local textile companies and Uzbek manufacturers, including for placing orders at Uzbekistan's enterprises.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a “Roadmap” with specific events, responsible participants, and implementation deadlines.

Participants of the videoconference noted the significant potential of the textile industry of Uzbekistan, which possesses a developed production base, access to raw material resources and qualified personnel.
