ATHENS, September 19. /Dunyo IA/.   A festive event dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan took place in Athens, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome in cooperation with Xenophon Lambrakis, President of the Greek-Eurasian Association. The ceremony was held at the “STUDIO New Star Art Cinema” theatre, located at America Square in Athens, and drew significant interest from the Greek public.

During the cultural evening, special attention was paid to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, national traditions, and unique musical and dance arts. The program allowed the Greek public to become acquainted with the cultural diversity of our country and contributed to the further development of humanitarian ties between the two nations.

One of the highlights of the program was the performance by the “Sharq Sadolari” folklore ensemble from Uzbekistan. The group performed traditional Uzbek songs and musical compositions, alongside national dances. A significant element of the evening featured national costumes, reflecting the wealth and diversity of Uzbekistan's cultural traditions.

As part of the musical and dance program, the audience was presented with various elements of Uzbek folk art, which reflected the centuries-old traditions, national identity and cultural heritage of the country. The ensemble's performance allowed the Greek spectators to gain closer familiarity with the traditional culture of Uzbekistan.

Program also featured a performance by the well-known Uzbek singer Sunnatillo Doston. His rendition of contemporary songs generated further interest from the Greek audience in Uzbek musical art. The warm reception from the guests demonstrated the interest in Uzbekistan's rich history, as well as initiatives aimed at expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Xenophon Lambrakis, founder and president of the Hellenic–Eurasian Association, expressed his satisfaction with the public interest in the event and thanked everyone who participated and contributed to its organization and execution.
