TASHKENT, September 25. /Dunyo IA/. The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, met with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, in New York to discuss Uzbekistan’s accession process to the organization, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“Met with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization,” the Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan wrote on her telegram-channel. – We discussed Uzbekistan’s progress toward accession to the WTO and the work that remains to be completed.

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for her continued support and expert assistance. We have come a long way, and it is now important to maintain the momentum and see this process through to completion.”

As noted during the meeting, as a result of systematic efforts in recent years, negotiations with practically all member states of the organization have been successfully concluded, bringing the process closer to a historic milestone.

Accession to the WTO will remove barriers to Uzbek products in foreign markets and create equal and fair conditions for our national exporters.

Uzbekistan’s accession to the organization will integrate the national economy into the global trading system and provide strong protection for our country’s interests in the global market.
