BEIRUT, July 1. /Dunyo IA/. Tehran, Washington and Beirut intend to establish a trilateral working group to monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime on Lebanese territory, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with “TASS”.
“A joint committee of Iran, the United States, and Lebanon will be established to ensure the state sovereignty of Lebanon. Our country’s ambassador will also serve as our representative on this committee”, - stated Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.
It is recalled that Washington and Tehran had previously signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities across all fronts, including in Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the southern territory of Lebanon occupied by the Israeli military the previous day, declaring that Israel will not withdraw from the south of the country as long as the Iran-backed “Hezbollah” continues to pose a threat. Last week, governments of Israel and Lebanon, through the mediation of the United States, reached a security agreement under which Israel is to transfer two territories to the Lebanese army.
