DOHA, June 30. /Dunyo IA/. Visit by American and Iranian representatives to Doha is taking place without any confirmed direct negotiations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing Reuters.

US special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were expected to arrive in Qatar for “high-level meetings” today, but the timing and format of any talks remain unclear.

According to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari, the US delegation will meet with Qatari mediators, but “there will be no meeting with Iranian officials.”

Iran said it is sending a technical delegation to Doha, stressing that the visit is not coordinated with the US side and that no direct negotiations are planned. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that meetings with the United States “will not take place in the coming days.”

According to Iranian officials, discussions in Doha may be limited to issues including the management of the Strait of Hormuz, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, and efforts to reduce regional tensions.

The report comes amid renewed accusations between the United States and Iran over violations of a temporary ceasefire reached under a June 14-point agreement, which provided a 60-day window for negotiations on a permanent ceasefire and a settlement of Tehran’s nuclear issue.

The day before, as reported by the Axios, the parties agreed to stop the strikes and meet this week in Qatar after the exchange of strikes in the Gulf region.

The conflict is also tied to tensions involving Israel and the Iran-backed group Hezbollah in Lebanon, where a separate framework agreement on ending hostilities is being discussed. However, its prospects remain uncertain due to disagreements over troop withdrawal and disarmament.
