Latvian company plans to build a high-tech agro-logistics complex in the Fergana region

RIGA, 9 August. /AA "Dunyo"/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the Trading House in Riga, organized a video conference meeting between the head of the KGS Group agricultural logistics company, Peteris Kaushelis, and the khokim of the Altiaryk district of the Ferghana region, Shamsiddin Turdaliev, a "Dunyo" information agency correspondent reports.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambai Sultanov and the head of the Trade House of Uzbekistan in Riga Vladimir Galperin.

Issues of investment and technological cooperation between the regions of our country with the KGS Group and the prospects for establishing joint industrial cooperation were discussed.

Peteris Kaushelis positively assessed the progressive reforms in the agro-industry in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which has already allowed deepening cooperation in recent years.

Shamsiddin Turdaliev shared information about the wide opportunities available in the Altyaryk region, including the great potential for the implementation of investment projects in the field of agriculture, agrologistics, and processing of agricultural products. It was especially noted that Altyaryk region is one of the main producers and exporters of grapes in the Ferghana Valley. There are plantations covering large areas. One of these was recently visited by the head of state.

During the meeting, Peteris Kaushelis confirmed the intention of KGS Group to implement an investment project in the Altyaryk region for the construction of high-tech agro-industrial complexes, which include a full cycle of growing agricultural products - fresh herbs, cabbage and other species, in accordance with world and European standards.

According to him, the amount of the project exceeds 10 million euros. Hundreds of new jobs will be created. The logistics of finished products will be carried out by KGS Group's own refrigerator trucks, which ensure the safety of perishable goods.

The grown products will be exported to the EU countries.

During the meeting, organizational, regulatory and other issues of the implementation of the investment project were discussed.

As a result, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of Peteris Kaushelis to the Altiarik region in early September.
