SINGAPORE, May 16. /Dunyo IA/. Rainer-Michael Preiss, a well-known German financial analyst and investor operating in Singapore, highlighted Uzbekistan's high investment potential and the republic's governmental efforts to attract foreign investors in his publication on the “DFO Singapore” platform, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In particular, Rainer-Michael Preiss noted that the listing of the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan (UZNIF) on the London Stock Exchange marked a significant historical step for the country's economy. This signifies not only Uzbekistan's entry into the international financial market but also opens up new opportunities in Central Asia for foreign investors.
While investors previously demonstrated interest primarily in the markets of Vietnam, Kazakhstan, or African nations, Uzbekistan is now also regarded as a highly promising market.
UZNIF is not merely an individual company, but an investment fund providing opportunities to invest across various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy. The fund holds strategic stakes in the banking sector, energy, transport, telecommunications, and industrial enterprises.
Consequently, investors gain the opportunity to benefit not just from a single corporation, but from the broader process of economic reforms and nationwide modernization.
During the IPO, the UZNIF fund generated significant interest. Upon its listing on the London Stock Exchange, the price of a single GDR was set at 25 dollars, with the total volume of raised capital amounting to 603.6 million dollars.
The participation of major international institutional investors, such as “Franklin Templeton”, “BlackRock” and “Redwheel”, demonstrates a high level of confidence in the fund. This also indicates that Uzbekistan’s international financial image continues to strengthen.
