TASHKENT, December 17. /Dunyo IA/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held the first stage of consultations with experts from the Directorate-General for Home Affairs and Migration of European Commission, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on the possibility of simplifying visa procedures for citizens of Uzbekistan entering the EU for employment, study, truck driving, and for tourist groups.

In particular, the European side outlined several conditions that must be met for the issue of simplifying visa procedures for citizens of Uzbekistan to be included on the agenda of the European Commission.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold further similar consultations to expedite the achievement of the aforementioned objectives.
