Uzbekistan leads growth in the number of operating foreign companies in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, May 21. /Dunyo IA/. According to the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, as of May 1, 2026, there were 8,275 operating companies with Uzbek participation in the country, compared to 2,072 in November 2022, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with reference to the Kazakh portal “Zakon.kz”.
Thus, the number of operating companies from Uzbekistan has increased almost fourfold over the last 3.5 years. In 2026, the growth accelerated noticeably: in March-April alone, the number of companies rose by 866, followed by an additional 510 in April-May.
According to estimates by the First Credit Bureau, the March surge was the largest in at least five years. The majority of companies with Uzbek participation operate in the service sector, accounting for 42%. Another 25% are involved in trade, while 21% operate in the construction sector.
Experts note that this growth is driven not only by the registration of new enterprises but also by an increase in the number of actively operating businesses, making Uzbekistan one of the key sources of new foreign entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.
