Alisher Navoi’s literary legacy reaches Italian readers through translation

ROME, February 9. /Dunyo IA/. On the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the work of the great Uzbek thinker and poet Alisher Navoi, “Lison ut-Tayr”, has been translated into Italian, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The Italian translation of “Lison ut-Tayr” was carried out by the “Sandro Teti Editore” publishing house, with the support of enthusiasts of Uzbek literature and sponsors from Italy.
The translation was executed by highly qualified and experienced translators and editors. The work opens with a foreword by the renowned Italian historian and Orientalist, Professor Marco Di Branco of the Sapienza University of Rome.
Abat Fayzullaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy, met with Sandro Teti, founder and head of the publishing house, to review the translation process and discuss the work in progress.
“The works of Alisher Navoi are an unparalleled and monumental heritage, not only for the Uzbek people but for all of humanity”, - said Sandro Teti, adding that it is a great honor for him to translate this masterpiece.
The Italian translation of “Lison ut-Tayr” is scheduled to be presented at events marking the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi.
