Alisher Navoi’s Literary and Cultural Legacy is presented in the Sverdlovsk Region of Russia

• 247YEKATERINBURG, February 9. /Dunyo IA/. A cultural and educational evening marking the 585th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi was held at the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library, jointly organised with the “Ural – Uzbekistan” Friendship Society, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together library staff, representatives of Kazakh, Tatar and other community organisations as well as Uzbek students currently studying at higher education institutions in Yekaterinburg.
Participants highlighted the immeasurable contribution of Alisher Navoi to the development of world literature, national culture and humanity’s spiritual and aesthetic thought. The programme featured recitations of the poet’s ghazals and rubaiyat in Uzbek and other languages, alongside musical and dance performances inspired by the works of the celebrated classical author.
A distinctive atmosphere was created by the active participation of Uzbek students studying abroad, who demonstrated a deep knowledge of their ancestral cultural heritage by reciting from memory excerpts from the poet’s ghazals, rubaiyat and aphorisms.
At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasised that even after six centuries, Alisher Navoi’s works continue to resonate around the world, retaining their relevance and value and remaining an inexhaustible source of spiritual inspiration.
Representatives of the “Russia 24” television channel were also invited to the event and provided extensive coverage. The broadcast of the programme on the channel helped to further promote Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and the creative legacy of Alisher Navoi to a wider audience.
In addition, as part of efforts to promote Navoi’s cultural and spiritual legacy abroad, a separate educational event was held at one of Yekaterinburg’s general education schools, where students and teachers were introduced to the life and works of the celebrated Uzbek poet and thinker.
