Uzbek student community in Poland widely celebrates Navruz

WARSAW, March 25. /Dunyo IA/. Navruz event organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Poland in collaboration with the public fund "Vatandoshlar" was celebrated at the Vistula University in Warsaw, where many students from Uzbekistan are studying, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The celebration aimed to promote Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage, strengthen interethnic dialogue, and foster friendly relations among students of various nationalities.
The event was attended by the university’s rector, Professor Wawrzyniec Konarski, university administration representatives, deans, faculty members, and over 150 students from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, and other countries. The celebration was also joined by compatriots studying at WSB University, Lazarski University, the University of Warsaw, and the University of Lodz.
Addressing the event, the rector emphasized the significance of Navruz as a symbol of joy, hope, national identity, and the preservation of traditions and culture. He congratulated all participants on the arrival of spring and expressed support for initiatives aimed at promoting national values among students.
The guests were introduced to the culture of the Uzbek people, the traditions and customs of celebrating Navruz in Uzbekistan. Uzbek artists performed songs and melodies, and guests enjoyed dishes from Uzbek national cuisine.
A quiz on the history, significance, and traditions of Navruz, as well as various competitions, added excitement to the event and inspired participants to strive for victory. The most inventive participants were awarded memorable prizes.
Student associations from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Azerbaijan also showcased their traditions of celebrating Navruz, which contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and cultural exchange. The celebration became a symbol of unity among Turkic and other peoples.
European students who participated in the celebration noted that the event allowed them to connect with the regional culture, learn many new and interesting things, and interact with their peers from Central Asia.
The leadership of Vistula University expressed its readiness to continue supporting student initiatives and creating a space for cultural events.
