The 585th Anniversary of prominent thinker, poet, and statesman Alisher Navoi marked in Malaysia

• 214KUALA LUMPUR, February 9. /Dunyo IA/. In Kuala Lumpur, on the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a roundtable was held dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the birth of the prominent thinker, poet, and statesman Alisher Navoi, reports IA “Dunyo.”
Participants included Oydin Mannopova, Director of the Academic Lyceum of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, visiting Malaysia, along with faculty and students of the institution, as well as Uzbek youth studying at Malaysian universities.
In his address, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Karomiddin Gadoev, highlighted the special role of Alisher Navoi’s works in the spiritual and moral development of the younger generation. He emphasized that the poet’s rich literary and philosophical heritage holds a significant place in world literature, science, and the history of statehood.
The event also drew attention to Uzbekistan’s state policy aimed at creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of youth and access to quality education. It was noted that protecting the legal rights and interests of the citizens of Uzbekistan studying abroad remains a priority area for the government.
The Ambassador underlined that the Embassy of Uzbekistan provides ongoing support to compatriots living and studying in Malaysia, addresses their concerns, and encourages youth initiatives and proposals.
As part of the roundtable, a presentation of Alisher Navoi’s works, provided by the public foundation “Vatandoshlar,” was organized, and participants were given copies of the books.
Uzbek youth also expressed their readiness to apply the knowledge and professional skills acquired abroad to contribute to the further development of Uzbekistan in the future.
