Uzbekistan expands cooperation with Japan’s Oita prefecture

OITA, April 22. /Dunyo IA/. At the invitation of the Japanese side, a working visit by the delegation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan was organized to Oita Prefecture to strengthen cooperation between the regions of the two countries, reports a correspondent from Dunyo IA.

During the visit, meetings were held with Governor of Oita Prefecture Kiichiro Sato, Mayor of Oita City Shinya Adachi, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of ASTEM, Inc. Yasuaki Yoshimura, Vice-President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Yoshifumi Okamura, CEO of the Oita Travel Agents Association Hideki Arai, Secretary General of the Japan International Youth Chamber, and President of Honda Cars Oita Daisuke Kai.


The meetings focused on expanding cooperation in the areas of interregional economic, cultural, tourism, educational, and legal labor migration, as well as effectively utilizing existing potential and broadening collaboration in promising sectors.


Yasuaki Yoshimura, Chairman of the Oita Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed his full support for investment activities and cooperation between companies from the Japanese prefecture and Uzbekistan, emphasizing the favorable investment climate and high economic potential in Uzbekistan.


As a result of the meetings, both sides committed to strengthening investment cooperation with business circles in both countries, exchanging experiences in the export and processing of agricultural products, and establishing collaboration in the creation and management of geothermal tourism infrastructure.


The two sides also agreed to discuss the participation of companies from Oita Prefecture in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in Uzbekistan this summer.
