ROME, September 15. /Dunyo IA/.   Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev held meetings with business circles, heads of sectoral organizations and a number of companies from the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meetings, the sides discussed the development of agro-industrial cooperation, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, water-saving and digital solutions, as well as opportunities for the localization of production and technologies in Uzbekistan.

One of the key outcomes of the negotiations was an agreement to organize a business mission of the members of the Italian “Clust-ER Agrifood” cluster to the Namangan Region in November of this year.

Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to conduct direct negotiations with local enterprises and develop promising joint projects.

Special attention was dedicated to the innovation ecosystem of Emilia-Romagna and its potential for implementing scientific, technological and innovative projects in Uzbekistan.

During the meetings with the organizations “ART-ER”, “Winet”, “Agronica” and “Agrobit”, areas of cooperation were identified in the digitalization of agriculture, the implementation of water-saving solutions and artificial intelligence-based technologies, along with their pilot testing and subsequent localization. Regarding the presented technologies, it was noted that certain solutions could reduce water consumption for irrigation by more than 40 percent.

Furthermore, prospects for new investment projects in the food industry, the circular economy, and modern technologies for cultivating planting materials were reviewed with “Tampieri Group” and “Vivai Battistini”.

In particular, the parties discussed the localization of vegetable oil production, the transfer of “in-vitro” technologies to Uzbekistan, the establishment of modern laboratories and the training of local specialists.
