ZHONGSHAN, July 1. /Dunyo IA/.  General Consulate of Uzbekistan held a series of events in the city of Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, aimed at developing Uzbek-Chinese interregional cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the talks with the city's leadership, parties discussed issues concerning the intensification of economic diplomacy and program of the upcoming visit of the municipal delegation to Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to the substantive part of the visit, including holding meetings in relevant ministries, organizing a business forum and signing strategic partnership agreements with the Academy of Sciences and Bukhara Region.

In addition, a “roundtable” discussion on the topic “Uzbekistan – Zhongshan: Trade, economic and investment cooperation” was held with the participation of more than 15 Chinese companies. The participants were presented with the investment potential of Uzbekistan's regions and the opportunities within free economic zones. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop business missions and elaborate mutually beneficial cooperation projects.

A schedule of business missions was also coordinated with the leadership of the Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Association and plans were announced to hold a business forum in Bukhara Region in the autumn of this year.

Practical result of the negotiations was also a preliminary agreement on opening a “Made in Uzbekistan” trading house in the city of Guangzhou.
