Uzbekistan to engage Japanese business in economic modernization

TOKYO, October 9. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbek diplomats held talks with the management of the Japanese trading and investment enterprise “Sumitomo Corporation”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Japanese delegation was led by Yoshikazu Ishikawa, Director of the Global Strategy and Development Department. The Uzbek diplomats provided a comprehensive brief on the ongoing reforms in the country aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and expanding the utilization of renewable energy sources.

Parties emphasized the importance of further advancing the strategic partnership and implementing projects with the participation of Japanese businesses. In particular, the creation of a joint industrial park for leading manufacturers was discussed.

It is anticipated that leveraging the experience and expertise of “Sumitomo Corporation” will facilitate the attraction of additional Japanese investments and expand industrial cooperation.

Following the negotiations, the sides approved a working schedule for current projects and agreed to explore new avenues of interaction.

“Sumitomo Corporation” was founded in Japan in 1919. The corporation operates globally across various sectors, including industry, infrastructure, energy, transport and urban development.
