LEEUWARDEN, September 6. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov, paid a visit to the Dutch province of Friesland, where he held meetings with regional leadership, business enterprises and scientific innovation centers, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting with Arno Brok, the King’s Commissioner for the province, a presentation was delivered detailing modern Uzbekistan, the large-scale reforms implemented in recent years and the positive outcomes achieved across the economy, investment sector, industry, agriculture and social sphere.

Parties discussed prospects for cooperation in livestock breeding, the dairy industry, water management, agricultural education, tourism, and professional training. It was also proposed to consider establishing partnership ties between Friesland and one of the regions of Uzbekistan.

Arno Brok noted the importance of developing not only inter-agency relations but also direct connections between companies, universities, research centers and people.

During the visit, meetings were also held with the leadership of companies such as “Firma Schaap”, “Venema Sugar Installations” and “OD Security” alongside a site visit to the “Dairy Campus” scientific innovation center.

With “Firma Schaap” the parties discussed the supply of approximately 1,000 head of pedigree cattle to the Andijan region.

With “Venema Sugar Installations”, the sides reviewed the company’s potential participation in a project for a new sugar production facility in Uzbekistan, as well as the integration of automated quality control systems for raw materials.

With “OD Security” discussions centered on the possibilities of deploying the company’s full-body X-ray scanners within Uzbekistan’s customs, border security, penitentiary and airport infrastructure. The company expressed its keen interest in participating in the upcoming “InnoWeek-2026” international week of innovative ideas in Tashkent.

At the “Dairy Campus” which operates with a herd of around 500 dairy cows and manages 300 hectares of land, the delegation examined cutting-edge research in the fields of “smart farming”, feed efficiency, emissions reduction, biogas production and animal health.

Following the visit, specific directions for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and Friesland were defined across the agro-industrial, technological, scientific and educational domains.
