Number of foreign nationals arriving in Uzbekistan for study purposes rose 2.2-fold in the first half of the year

TASHKENT, August 10. /Dunyo IA/. In the first six months of the year, 21,042 foreign nationals arrived in Uzbekistan for study purposes, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, compared with the corresponding period of 2025, the number of foreign nationals arriving in the country for study purposes increased by 11,500 people, or 2.2-fold.

The largest number of foreign nationals arriving in Uzbekistan for study purposes were citizens of Turkmenistan, at 9,207 people.

They were followed by citizens of India, with 3,723 people; Tajikistan, 1,915; China, 951; the Kyrgyz Republic, 834; Pakistan, 689; Egypt, 603; the Republic of Korea, 526; the Philippines, 367; and the United States, 302.

A total of 1,925 foreign nationals from other countries arrived in Uzbekistan for study purposes.

According to experts, the significant increase in the number of international students indicates growing interest in Uzbekistan’s educational opportunities.
