Ambassador of Uzbekistan and Head of the State Customs Committee of Belarus discuss measures to accelerate trade turnover

MINSK, August 7. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Mamajonov held a meeting with Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, parties discussed issues related to accelerating the customs clearance of goods with the aim of doubling mutual trade turnover and reducing cargo delays at borders amid the existing sanctions restrictions.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of further digitalizing customs procedures and transitioning to automated data exchange in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Government of Belarus and Government of Uzbekistan on the Mutual Recognition of Electronic Systems for Certification of Origin of Goods.

Parties also discussed issues related to organizing joint work at Belarusian customs posts and promptly resolving emerging issues. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to accelerate the review and implementation of requests from the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
