NEW DELHI, July 23. /Dunyo IA/. The trade, economic, and educational potential of Uzbekistan was showcased at the international forum "Investor Day," organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in New Delhi in cooperation with the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev briefed the participants on the outcomes of the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years, the country’s significant achievements across various sectors of the economy, and the steadily developing partnerships with the business communities of numerous countries.

It was emphasized that as a result of consistent reforms, Uzbekistan’s cooperation with foreign countries, including India, has been expanding — clearly demonstrated by the growing volume of bilateral trade and successful collaboration in the textile industry, information technology, pharmaceuticals, education, tourism, and other areas.

Chairperson of GTTCI Rashmi Saluja spoke about the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for doing business and developing international cooperation. She noted that the increase in the number of joint ventures with Indian entrepreneurs is contributing to the expansion of trade and economic ties between the two countries.

The delegation of the Global Trade and Technology Council of India actively participated in the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum held this June, identifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation with various companies and institutions in Uzbekistan.

In particular, GTTCI reached an agreement to enroll Indian students at the Andijan branch of Kokand University starting from the new academic year. As part of this initiative, efforts have begun to recruit 300 Indian students for the 2025/2026 academic year, with plans to increase this number to 8,000 next year. The students will consolidate the theoretical knowledge gained in Uzbekistan through practical training at one of India’s largest healthcare facilities — Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.

The forum also featured a presentation of the production capabilities of "7 Saber," a company operating in Uzbekistan, highlighting its high-quality, internationally competitive products and the wide geography of its exports.

On the sidelines of "Investor Day," meetings were held with representatives of Indian companies to discuss the implementation of new business projects in Uzbekistan, the attraction of investments, and the expansion of exports of Uzbek goods.
