Uzbekistan and China Reach Agreements on Joint Agro-Industrial and Investment Projects

• 131NANNING, June 23. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomatic representatives of Uzbekistan held a series of events in the city of Nanning aimed at further strengthening interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During talks with the leadership of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, both sides noted the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
The parties agreed to develop a memorandum on establishing friendly relations between the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the regions of Uzbekistan. They also reached an agreement to launch academic and educational exchange programmes between relevant higher education institutions.
As part of the business agenda, negotiations were held with Council for the Promotion of International Trade of the autonomous region. A roundtable discussion titled “Uzbekistan–Guangxi: Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation” was also organized, bringing together more than 20 Chinese companies.
Special attention was given to prospects for joint projects in agriculture, agro-processing, construction materials production, electrical engineering, and tourism.
A key outcome of the visit was progress in the field of education. Li Xianghong, President of Guangxi Agricultural Vocational University, expressed readiness to organize advanced training courses in September–October this year for ten lecturers from Navoi State Pedagogical Institute and Tashkent State Agrarian University.
Following the meetings, both sides agreed to prepare strategic partnership agreements between the mentioned universities, aimed at introducing advanced practices into Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector and promoting modern innovative technologies.
