TASHKENT, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $41 billion in the first six months of the year, which is 7.4 percent higher compared to the same period last year, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee, exports reached $15.9 billion, decreasing by 8.8 percent. At the same time, non-gold exports of goods increased by 28.7 percent, amounting to $8.2 billion, reflecting positive dynamics in the supply of non-resource products to foreign markets.

Imports of goods and services increased by 21 percent, reaching $25.1 billion.

During the first six months of the current year, Uzbekistan maintained trade relations with 195 countries around the world.

Republic’s largest trading partners remain China, which accounts for 23.1 percent of foreign trade turnover, Russia (17.1 percent), Kazakhstan (6.8 percent), Türkiye (3.4 percent) and Afghanistan (2.6 percent).

According to experts, the growth of Uzbekistan’s overall foreign trade turnover, coupled with a significant increase in non-gold exports of goods, indicates the ongoing diversification of the country’s export structure and the gradual strengthening of the role of products with higher added value. At the same time, the faster growth of imports reflects sustained high domestic investment and consumer demand, as well as the active modernization of the economy. The broad geographical scope of foreign economic cooperation with 195 countries confirms Uzbekistan’s continued integration into the global economy and the strengthening of its position as one of the most dynamically developing participants in regional trade.
