NEW YORK, 30 October. /Dunyo IA/. At the initiative of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in the United States, the "Uzbekistan Heritage Day" event was held for the first time at the New York City Mayor’s Residence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives of official U.S. authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, scholars and cultural figures, as well as members of the Uzbek diaspora residing in New York and surrounding areas, alongside enthusiasts of Uzbek culture and the arts.
The primary goal of the event was to promote Uzbekistan’s rich national and cultural heritage to the international community, showcase the country’s tourism and cultural diplomacy potential, and foster a sense of national values, historical awareness, and patriotism among the Uzbek diaspora abroad, particularly the younger generation.
The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by New York City Mayor Eric Adams. "The culture and traditions of the Uzbek people have deep historical roots. The Uzbek diaspora in the United States stands out among other communities for its solidarity, diligence, and loyalty to national values. The development of such cultural ties in New York contributes to mutual understanding and fosters a climate of friendship in our multicultural city", - Mayor Eric Adams stated.
Yesterday, a wide-ranging exhibition showcasing Uzbek national heritage, culture, and lifestyle was organized. It featured traditional handicrafts from various regions of the country, including gold and silver embroidery, adras and atlas textiles, pottery, and copperware.
