A prominent Pakistani brand is set to open its first branch in Tashkent

KARACHI, September 6. /Dunyo IA/.   Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, held a meeting in Karachi with Asad Fawad, Managing Director of “Al Karam”, one of Pakistan's largest textile conglomerates, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of new investment projects in Uzbekistan in the areas of spinning, fabric dyeing and ready-made garment manufacturing, as well as export-oriented joint ventures.

As Asad Fawad noted, “Al Karam” possesses significant experience in the manufacturing and export of textile products and collaborates with globally renowned international retail chains such as “IKEA”, “Walmart” and “Target”.

During the conversation, special attention was devoted to the entry of the “Al Karam Studio” brand into the market of Uzbekistan. Specifically, it was proposed to open a branch of the brand in Tashkent, establish operations with local partners on a franchising basis and localize the production of selected product lines.

As highlighted, these initiatives are expected to foster the development of new projects within Uzbekistan’s modern retail trade and light industry sectors.

Following the negotiations, priority areas for practical cooperation were defined. In particular, an agreement was reached to develop preliminary feasi-bility indicators for a joint manufacturing project within the textile sector, identify potential local partners for the entry of the “Al Karam Studio” brand into the market of Uzbekistan, and explore the possibilities of implementing a joint investment project for the supply and processing of seafood in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the implementation of the investment initiatives put forward during the talks will significantly drive the further development of the economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, expanding it into new high-value-added sectors.
