CUPERTINO, August 27. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Uzbek diaspora have taken an active part in the “Kids’N Fun Festival” International Children's Festival held in the city of Cupertino, California, USA, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Annual festival is one of the brightest cultural and family events in the San Francisco Bay Area. This year, the culture and traditions of around 20 countries were presented at its venues. Among the numerous national expositions, a worthy place was taken by the Pavilion of Uzbekistan, organized by representatives of the Uzbek diaspora community – “Uzbek Community Center of San Francisco Bay Area” (UCCSFBA).

UCCSFBA is one of the active diaspora organizations in Northern California, with which Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York maintains regular interaction on matters concerning the consolidation of compatriots and the promotion of national culture.

Uzbek pavilion was colourfully decorated with state symbols, national costumes, doppi skullcaps, traditional fabrics, and objects of folk arts and crafts. Visitors were also presented with information materials on the history, rich cultural heritage, landmarks and tourism potential of Uzbekistan.

Throughout the festival, activists of the Uzbek diaspora familiarized numerous guests with national traditions and customs, sharing insights into the historical and cultural heritage, as well as the modern life of our country. The exposition aroused particular interest among families with children, who received an opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the unique culture of Uzbekistan.

Vibrant program of the festival, national expositions, and performances by representatives of various nations created a festive atmosphere and generated great interest among the participants and guests of the event.

Participation of compatriots in such large-scale multicultural events contributes to the popularization of the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of Uzbekistan, the strengthening of intercultural dialogue, and the expansion of interaction between the Uzbek diaspora and the local community.
