Experience of Uzbekistan in social protection presented in UAE

DUBAI, August 27. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan to the UAE have taken part in the events of the international humanitarian aid and development conference and exhibition, “Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) - 2026”, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre complex, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
DIHAD, which has been held since 2004, is one of the leading international platforms for dialogue in the field of humanitarian aid and development. It brings together representatives of government agencies, UN institutions, international and regional organizations, charitable and non-governmental organizations, the private sector, as well as financial institutions.
The 22nd DIHAD conference was held on August 24–26th under the motto “Humanitarian Action in Transformation: Shaping the Future of Humanitarian Action”. Event was organized under the patronage of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It is attended by more than 2.5 thousand delegates and visitors from over 50 countries.
Within the framework of the conference, a side event dedicated to Uzbekistan was organized on the topic “Uzbekistan’s Path to Resilience: Advancing Social Protection for the Future”.
During the event, the reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the field of social protection, measures to support vulnerable segments of the population, improve the quality and coverage of social services, as well as expand investments in human capital were presented.
In addition, the sides discussed issues of expanding cooperation with UN agencies, international humanitarian and charitable organizations, development institutions and donor structures, studying advanced foreign experience, as well as strengthening Uzbekistan’s role on the international humanitarian and development agenda.
Following the results of the event, an agreement was reached to discuss, jointly with “DIHAD Sustainable Organization”, “UAE Aid Agency”, relevant UN structures, and other international partners, the possibility of hosting a DIHAD-format event in Uzbekistan in 2027.
