ST. PETERSBURG, July 6./Dunyo IA/. The first International Islamic Forum, “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment", will be held in Tashkent and Samarkand from July 7 to 11, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Russia News information portal.

The forum is jointly organized by the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

The event will serve as an international platform for dialogue among representatives of the Islamic world. It will bring together leading scholars, religious leaders, heads of international organizations, and representatives of universities, museums, libraries, and humanitarian institutions from various countries.

The discussions will focus on the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of world science, education, culture, philosophy, art, and spiritual heritage, as well as on issues of inter-civilizational cooperation and the promotion of mutual understanding.

The forum program includes plenary sessions, international scientific conferences, meetings with prominent scholars and religious leaders, visits to the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, exhibitions of Islamic art, calligraphy, and manuscript heritage, as well as press briefings for media representatives.

The forum is being held as part of Uzbekistan’s broader efforts to preserve and promote the Islamic cultural and scientific heritage. In March 2026, the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, one of the largest humanitarian and educational projects in the Islamic world, was inaugurated in Tashkent.
