“Asdaa Oman” newspaper: Uzbekistan’s Mining and Geological Sector modernized through digital technologies

MUSCAT, June 16. /Dunyo IA/. Omani newspaper “Asdaa Oman” has published an article dedicated to the reforms in the sphere of introducing digital technologies and artificial intelligence into the mining and geological sector of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The material provides information on a meeting chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which measures for the digital transformation of the mining and geological sector and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies were reviewed.
The publication notes that the mining and geological sector occupies an important place in the national economy of Uzbekistan. In particular, in 2025, its share in the country’s total industrial production volume amounted to 20 percent.
It is also emphasized that the sector’s contribution to the state budget revenues reached 118.5 trillion soums in 2025. In this regard, the Head of State pays particular attention to the transformation of the sector, the rational utilization of production capacities and human resources, the implementation of digital solutions, and the expansion of investment volumes.
The publication separately outlines plans to expand the resource base: over the next five years, it is planned to bring gold reserves to 879 tons, silver to 510 tons, and copper production volumes to 676 thousand tons.
