ТАSHKENT, June 17. /Dunyo IA/.   On June 16, Tashkent hosted the Second Meeting of Senior Officials on preparations for the First Summit of the Heads of State of the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvokhid Azimov.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the progress of preparations for the upcoming Summit, exchanged views on the draft documents, and discussed key areas for the further development of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, investment, energy, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Following the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and agreed to continue joint efforts to further develop the substantive agenda of the first-ever Summit of the Heads of State of the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia. The Summit is expected to provide new impetus to the development of multilateral partnership.

The first Meeting of Senior Officials of the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers was held in Seoul on April 10, 2026.
