“Petra” IA: Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent has become the largest platform for studying and preserving the region's heritage

AMMAN, June 23. /Dunyo IA/. According to the Jordan News Agency "Petra," Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent stands as one of the largest scientific and cultural projects in Central Asia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The agency notes that the Center’s activities are dedicated to studying and popularizing the history of Islamic civilization, preserving handwritten heritage, advancing scientific research and strengthening inter-civilizational dialogue.
Located on the territory of the Hazrati Imam Complex, the Center was established upon an initiative launched in 2017, and its official opening took place in March 2026.
The complex comprises a museum, exhibition halls, a library, laboratories for the restoration and digitization of manuscripts, as well as scientific and educational divisions. A special place is reserved for the Hall of the Holy Quran, which features the manuscript of the Quran attributed to Caliph Uthman ibn Affan.
The Center also carries out extensive work on preserving and studying the heritage of the scholars of Maveraunnahr, while advanced multimedia technologies allow visitors to gain a deeper insight into the history and culture of the region.
According to the leadership, the Center is designed not only to preserve historical heritage but also to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and dialogue between cultures and religions.
