MOSCOW, July 15. /Dunyo IA/. Participants of the first International Forum of Islamic Civilization, representing more than 50 countries, unanimously supported the initiative of Uzbekistan to create the World Alliance of Islamic Civilization, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with reference to the Russian portal “Milliard Tatar”.

Relevant decision is reflected in an address to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which also expresses gratitude for organizing the large-scale scientific forum.

Forum, held under the motto “The Path of Peace, tolerance and Enlightenment”, took place in Tashkent, Samarkand and Termez, and concluded with the adoption of a declaration and a roadmap aimed at preserving and popularizing the Islamic heritage.

In the address, heads of international organizations, ministers, and scholars noted that the holding of the forum became possible thanks to the initiative and support of the President of Uzbekistan. Significance of the initiative put forward in 2017 to establish the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, aimed at studying, preserving and popularizing the rich humanitarian heritage of Islamic civilization, was particularly emphasized.

Forum participants also highlighted the ongoing reforms in the country’s humanitarian sphere, including the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization, Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex, scientific centers and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.

One of the key outcomes of the forum was the decision to create the World Alliance of Islamic Civilization, which will serve as an international platform for coordinating scientific research, training specialists, and developing academic cooperation. Adopted declaration and roadmap define the main directions for long-term international interaction in studying, preserving and popularizing the Islamic heritage as an integral part of world culture.
