 “Kierunek Kaukaz”: Uzbekistan adopts a more systemic and proactive defence strategy to better mitigate the prevention of risks and threats

WARSAW, January 28. /Dunyo IA/.  The popular Polish online portal “Kierunek Kaukaz” has published an article titled “Uzbekistan to revise defence doctrine” by journalist Kacper Ochman, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The article notes that at a meeting of the State Security Council, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed a revision of the country's defence doctrine, the press service of the head of state reported. “It is indicated that the time has come to revise the defence doctrine adopted eight years ago, as well as the 1997 concept of national security”, - president's press service said in a statement.

According to President Mirziyoyev, the need to strengthen the country's military security and defence, taking into account the rapidly changing regional and global situation. The modernization of the Armed Forces should be based on increasing mobility, production capacity and management efficiency as well as on the extensive use of digital solutions and modern technologies. He called for the development of the defence industry to increase technological level and stability and the introduction of digital solutions along with elements of artificial intelligence.

President also emphasized the key role of the development of the army's human capital and the further improvement of the military education system, including the University of Military Security and Defence using digital and intelligent training technologies. The need to strengthen the military, scientific and infrastructure base as well as the training of engineering, technical and cyber experts of the new generation, was also indicated.

The article also highlights plans to strengthen the scientific, engineering, and cyber infrastructure of the Armed Forces, alongside the training of a new generation of specialists. A new model of military service is being introduced, designed to allow service members to acquire professional skills and ensure tangible career opportunities after demobilization.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of creating conditions for continuing higher education during service and supporting learning post-service, including the funding of certification programs and provision of interest-free educational loans. Additional measures will expand employment support for former soldiers, including entrepreneurship assistance and the provision of additional employment benefits.
