“Asdaa Oman”: Uzbekistan receives invitation to join Peace Council as Founding State

MUSCAT, January 23. /Dunyo IA/.   A leading Omani publication, “Asdaa Oman”, has published an article highlighting an international initiative aimed at promoting peace and facilitating conflict resolution in the Middle East, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the publication, President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received an official invitation from United States President Donald Trump to join an international initiative aimed at advancing peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East.

The article notes that the initiative forms part of a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which was announced on 29 September 2025, has garnered support from global leaders and was formally endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2803 on 17 November 2025.

The publication underscores that the core objective of the initiative is the establishment of a new international framework - Peace Council - intended to bring together states willing to assume shared responsibility for ensuring long-term peace, stability and security in the region.

It reports that Uzbekistan has been invited to join the Peace Council as a founding member state. In his reply, the President of Uzbekistan expressed the country’s readiness to participate in the initiative specifically in this capacity.

In conclusion, “Asdaa Oman” cites a message from the Head of State of Uzbekistan, emphasising that the initiative is viewed as an important step towards resolving protracted conflicts in the Middle East and strengthening peace and stability across the wider region.
