ISLAMABAD, August 8. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistan’s online publication “The Diplomatic Insight” published an interview with Akramjon Nematov, First Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, titled “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Redraws Eurasia’s Economic Map”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The interview noted that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan, held from July 30 to August 1 this year, was a truly historic event that opened a new chapter in Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations. The publication emphasized that the high-level talks were held in an atmosphere of unprecedented trust, mutual understanding and strategic partnership, confirming the transition of bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level — that of allied relations.
“Today, particular attention is being given to the practical implementation of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project, which has already rightfully been described as the ‘project of the century.’ After years of discussions, the project has entered the active construction phase. The leaders of the two countries discussed in detail the current status of this unprecedented project in terms of its scale”, - Akramjon Nematov said.
According to the First Deputy Director of ISRS, implementation of the project is fundamentally transforming the transport and logistics map of Eurasia, creating the shortest and most efficient land route between East and West — a modern Iron Silk Road.
