BISHKEK, July 24. /Dunyo IA/. Kyrgyzstan remains one of the key partners of Uzbekistan in the tourism sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the Kyrgyz National News Agency “Kabar”, in the first half of 2026, more than 6.5 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan, which is nearly a quarter more than the figure for the same period last year. This growth confirms the high interest in the historical and cultural heritage and natural attractions of the country.
Against this backdrop, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan continue to develop their partnership in the tourism sector, expanding joint itineraries and promoting Central Asia as a unified tourist destination. The two countries are developing collaborative projects, organizing familiarization tours, participating in international events and promoting routes that combine the Great Silk Road heritage sites, as well as cultural and natural locations.
Additional opportunities for cooperation are presented by the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to create the “Central Asia Tourism Ring”, aimed at forming a unified tourism space in the region and attracting travellers from third countries.
