Uzbekistan Emerges as Key Economic Partner within SCO, Chinese Magazine Says

BEIJING, August 31. /Dunyo IA/. The magazine “China” («Kitay») has published an article underscoring Uzbekistan’s role in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that Uzbekistan, which was among the founders of the SCO, has made a significant practical contribution to the organisation’s activities and has chaired the SCO four times, hosting summits in Tashkent and Samarkand.
The magazine highlights Uzbekistan’s focus on expanding trade, attracting investment, developing industrial and technological cooperation, and strengthening transport and logistics links. It notes that the country’s foreign trade turnover reached 81.2 billion dollars in 2025, with China, Russia and Kazakhstan accounting for around 43 percent.
The article also emphasizes Uzbekistan’s cooperation with SCO members in security, digitalization, green technologies and humanitarian ties, describing the country as one of the key contributors to the organisation’s regional agenda.
