Uzbek Products May Enter U.S. Market Through Major Retail Chain

SEATTLE, August 31. /Dunyo IA/. Consul General of Uzbekistan Akhror Burkhanov met with representatives of U.S. company “Costco Wholesale” to discuss prospects for supplying Uzbek products to the American market, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, Uzbekistan’s export potential in agriculture, textiles and handicrafts was presented, along with samples of Uzbek raisins and dried apricots approved for import into the United States.
Costco representatives highly praised the quality and appearance of the raisins and expressed readiness to consider selling them through its retail network.
The sides also discussed potential supplies of pistachios, walnuts, almonds, blueberries, cherries, grapes, pomegranates and other fresh and dried fruits.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation with U.S. companies on packaging and labelling, as well as the participation of Uzbek producers in a product presentation scheduled for February next year.
The parties also considered promoting Uzbek textiles, national ceramics, tableware and handmade decorative items through Costco.
Company representatives expressed interest in presenting competitive products from Uzbekistan to its global procurement teams.
