New Ambassador of Uzbekistan arrives in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM, October 15 /Dunyo IA/. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov, arrived in the capital of Sweden this evening, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Before his appointment to Stockholm, in 20232024, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
He is 47 years old and graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies (now the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies), and the National University of Uzbekistan.
Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov has been working in Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2003, in various positions within the ministry's central office and Embassies of Uzbekistan in Germany and Spain, eventually progressing to the role of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. From 2018 to 2024, he also served as Uzbekistans National Coordinator for SCO affairs. He began his career at the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
The new Ambassador holds a Doctor of Political Science (DsC) degree and is fluent in German, Spanish, and English.
Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov succeeds Nodir Ganiev, who headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Stockholm from 2022 to 2024.
