Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Ireland

LONDON, May 7. /Dunyo IA/. President of Ireland Catherine Connolly received the letters of credence from Ravshan Usmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan with residence in London, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ireland.
President Catherine Connolly expressed her firm confidence in the steady progress and comprehensive expansion of bilateral relations between Ireland and Uzbekistan and conveyed her sincere and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is worth noting that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Ireland were established on November 7th, 1997.
Ravshan Usmanov arrived in London on November 14th, 2023, as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom. On May 16th, 2024, he presented his credentials to King Charles III of the United Kingdom. In February 2025, he also presented his credentials to the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, as the first-ever Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the country.
In June 2025, Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov presented copies of his credentials to the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland.
