SALEM, August 30. /Dunyo IA/.  Governor of the U.S. State of Oregon, Tina Kotek, has officially proclaimed September 1^st, 2026, as Uzbekistan Independence Day throughout the territory of the state, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Seattle, the corresponding proclamation was signed by the State Governor and attested by Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read.

Decision is timed to coincide with the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan. The document highlights our country's significant progress in strengthening its sovereignty, preserving its rich cultural heritage, aspirations for peace, prosperity and national development.

Proclamation highly values the economic and social reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, the country's active role in the international engagement and its contribution to strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia.

Document particularly underscores the dynamic development between the United States and Uzbekistan relations in the spheres of trade, investment, technology, education, clean energy, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

State Governor expressed gratitude to the Uzbek-American community and friends of Uzbekistan for their contribution to strengthening cultural understanding and stronger connections between the peoples of the two nations.

“September 1^st, 2026, is proclaimed as Uzbekistan Independence Day in the State of Oregon”, states the proclamation signed at the Capitol in the City of Salem in the State of Oregon.

Official recognition of Uzbekistan's Independence Day at the state level serves as further evidence of the strengthening friendly relations between the United States and Uzbekistan and the expansion of bilateral cooperation at the regional level.
